An amazing night… at the 2018 Daytime ☀️Emmys

Oh yes… It was quite… a night! 🌙✨

I thought the 2018

Daytime ☀️ Emmys…. was just fascinating to watch! There were so many great moments… but I’m only going to highlight a few ✨shining✨ examples…

The Daytime Emmys took place…at the Pasadena auditorium.. in Pasadena, Ca… The grand affair was hosted again this year by Mario Lopez (“Extra”) and Sheryl Underwood..from (“The Talk”)

At the beginning of the show…they expressed support for the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements. Lopez also said, “Let me be clear: This is not a show about politics.”

It was a show celebrating the best things to watch on television during during the day… Everything from soap operas… to talk shows… variety shows… informative programming… and game shows…

Wayne Brady was absolutely stunned when he won the award for outstanding game show host.

Brady has hosted “Let’s Make a Deal” since 2009…and has been nominated for best game show host every year — This was Host first WIN! He said he was hungry… and about to leave and go to a restaurant to eat… He also admitted that he thought Steve Harvey was going to win…

While Brady thanked his production team and staff…the teleprompter directed him to wrap it up, Brady kept talking… and said: “It took me nine years to get here. Suck it!”

The audience applauded and laughed… and Brady cherished the rest of his time onstage…with his 15-year-old daughter, Maile.

Another Fantastic father daughter moment on stage was between Host Mario Lopez… and his adorable daughter Gia.

She was sharp and spunky with her Dad presenting several awards categories… My heart melted when that cute little voice said “ This is fun Daddy… Can we do more?!”

Cute little Gia enthusiastically danced on stage to the upbeat music in between… and did a fantastic job… like a real pro! I certainly can see her following her Dad’s footsteps being ona cool kids show… If that is what she really wants to do. Gia certainly has the presence… and the personality!

Another cool thing about this show… is that the winners can bring anyone they like on stage for the acceptance…

It’s really nice to see several members of the cast or crew… and loved ones involved… Family members, and even a 🐕 Dog this year! Doggone right he was on stage… standing at attention for the big moment. Who says presenting an award has to be….. ( wait for it…..) 🐶 #ruff! 🐾🐾🐾

Harley, is the service dog and “best friend” of a soap star.

General Hospital actor Chris Van Etten, was a Marine who lost both his legs when a bomb went off in Afghanistan in 2012. He presented an award and shared his story. He was joined on stage by Actor Brandon McMillan, the host of “Lucky Dog,”

Speaking of Luck… The talk was favored with another Emmy this year!

Last year… they snagged the award for outstanding talk show Hosts…

This year…The Talk… on CBS won for best talk show… and the Audience was extremely excited. The show has an extremely loyal fan base..consistently keeping the show fueled with high powered energy… and reactions to topics, and other exciting things happening on the show….

Host Sharon Osborne was missing for the victory… because she was committed to another program…

meanwhile former host Ayisha Tyler, and new talk host Eve… were both on stage… to share in the victory! Congratulations to the ladies of the talk!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏽🙌🙌🏿🙌🏼🙌🏾🙌🏻🙌🏽

Talk about more unexpected winners… The ladies from “The real” was filled with emotion… when they gathered on stage to accept the award for Best Talk Show Hosts!

“We are in pure shock,” Loni Love said, and started crying. The other hosts — Tamera Mowry-Housley, Adrienne Houghton and Jeannie Mai —took turns at the mic… filled with joy… emphasizing the importance of a talk show that stars women of color.

Another one of my favorite moments of the night…was seeing two favorite icons from my childhood honored for their creative shows! Can you believe it’s the 50th anniversary of “Mr Roger’s Neighborhood… always a “pleasant day in the neighborhood!” It was calming to see him walk through the door🚪 and take of his sweater and shoes..👞 Then… you could hardly wait… to see what wonderful things would unfold… during the course of the show… Favorite characters… activities… arts and crafts and All!!! I just loved ❤️ every single thing!!!! 😄

I loved watching Mr. Rogers neighborhood… and the wonderful and wacky world of Sid & Marty Krofft

Sid & Marty… are a sibling team of television producers who were influential in children’s television and variety show programs in the USA 🇺🇸

–particularly throughout the 1970s and early 1980s

I remember one of their amusement theme parks being on top of a building in downtown Atlanta….

It was ..super fun… and something “different” to do..

In the soap opera category… More actors of color took home Emmys… than ever before:

Judge Greg Mathis… was also thrilled to be honored… saying his show is the longest running show featuring an African-American man.. in history!
