2019 Golden Globes Re-cap by Sparkle “E”

Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg hosted the 76th Golden Globe Awards, Sunday night, January 6, 2019…on NBC.

I’ll start by shining the spotlight on Sandra Oh…
a little ✨BRIGHTER✨ because she is the first actress of Asian descent to ever host the show… -and- the 1st in 39 years to win the Globe for best leading TV actress.

she won the 2019 Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Drama for BBC America’s Killing Eve….
((( but it’s not her first time winning…. ✨😃✨)))

Oh won her first Golden Globe in 2006 for her role as Cristina Yang on Grey’s Anatomy
Way to GO… Sandra Oh‼️
The Golden Globes awards show was held at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Beverly Hills, California 🌴

My ✨FAVORITE✨ Moments of the 2019 telecast: 📺 included an early bit in the audience by Jim Carey… gripping about his seat…😆
and then…Host Sandra Oh… tossing to her proud parents in the audience… #BigSmilesAllAround
I also really enjoyed watching
Special Awards Presentations:
I was HAPPY 😀 to see
one of my favorite comedians EVER… win an award named in her honor! 🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️🙌🏽🙌🏽
Funny man
Steve Carell presented the award…on the telecast.
For most of my life… I have been a Carol Burnett “SUPER FAN!!!” 😄
I couldn’t wait for Saturday night to come… so I could watch her legendary comedy sketch show… 📺
“The Carol Burnett Show.” She played so many GREAT characters!!!! Can I get a Tarzan shout 🗣 of approval for the inaugural Carol Burnett award… presented to one of the 1st ladies of comedy… give it up again..((((Applause 😃 please: ))))
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏👏👏 for

But wait….. There’s MORE…
Jeff Bridges is presented the Cecil B. Demille Award onstage during the 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards…

After receiving the honor…
Bridges said: “We can make a difference,” he said. “We can turn this ship in the way we want to go, man! Tag, you’re it!” Cool…. #ItsOurTurn! ✨😃✨

Dick Van Dyke 93, took the stage with his “Mary Poppins Returns”
costar Emily Blunt to present an intro about the movie, which was nominated for best motion picture, comedy or musical.
Dick Van Dyke joked that he gets a really good job every 50 years! (LOL! 😆)
In fact… when he appeared in the original “Mary Poppins”
in 1964…he had to PAY Walt Disney… to also play a smaller role…

Van Dyke is FAMOUS for playing the chimney sweeper “Bert”…but the actor recently revealed that he had to give up a bit of cash money..💵 💰 💵 to Mr. Disney… to portray the film’s banker, Mr. Dawes Sr.

“I said, ‘I’ll do it for nothing.’ But…. I had to give him $4,000 dollars to do the part.  I say that was a GREAT investment… that’s STILL paying off today!

In the new movie… “Mary Poppins Returns..” Dick Van Dyke is playing the elderly son.. of Banker Dawes Sr. !!!

Julie Andrews… the original “Mary Poppins” chose NOT to make a cameo in the film… reportedly saying.. she wanted ALL the attention to be focused on Emily Blunt. Blunt is getting SPLENDID reviews… and loads of praise for during a wonderful job as the magical
 Mary Poppins ‼️
Hip! hip HoORay‼️‼️‼️
Best supporting actress in a motion picture: Regina King, for her role… as a compassionate…and loving mother in “If Beale Street Could Talk”

During her acceptance speech…

Regina King pledges every project she produces will involve 50 percent women‼️‼️

✨✨ 🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️🙌🏽🙌🏽 ✨✨

Best original song:
“Shallow” performed by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in “A Star ⭐️ is Born”  The song was written by Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and
Andrew Wyatt

Green Book took home TOP honors at the Golden Globes —

Best supporting actor in a  motion picture went to Mahershala Ali in Universals “Green Book”

The movie 🎥 also won for best motion picture, musical or comedy.

Director Peter Farrelly accepted the prize

“Green Book” centers on Dr. Don Shirley (Ali), a world-class African-American pianist who embarked on a concert tour of the Deep South in 1962 along with his driver and bodyguard Tony Lip (played by Mortensen).
And then… another key moment…
