A royal ๐Ÿ‘‘ return to a life of Splendor! Downton Abbey is BACK on the BIG SCREEN! ๐ŸŽฉ๐ŸŽป๐ŸŽฌs

Itโ€™s a major motion picture event!

Quite frankly… Iโ€™ve been counting down the days!!!

Finally…this historic drama returns with more intriguing story lines…

Weโ€™re getting back on track… in a most regal way! ๐Ÿ‘‘
The Crawley family get quite a surprise! King George V and Queen Mary have invited themselves to stay at their country side estate..for one night during their royal tour of Yorkshire, a county in the north of England.

A GRAND EVENT like this one.. is no big deal for the Crawleys!

The dutiful servants downstairs… are the ones who must get everything in order.

And if you remember from the television show… EVERYTHING must be perfect!

The servants take great pride in everything they do! So many different personalities.. so many issues… so little time!

How this all turns out is going to be genius! The writing is superb.

I love period productions and history!

Oh! By the way…Iโ€™ve got a pretty amazing tie in… I have a feature in my blog: Sparkle โœจEโœจ on the scene… about the historic ship ๐Ÿšข named in honor of Queen ๐Ÿ‘‘ Mary. (A featured star in this film… Make sure you check it out!!!)

You know what?? I take great pride in the fact that I turned a LOT of people onto this show. I found it absolutely FASCINATING!!!

Ahem! Iโ€™ll also take credit… as one of the devoted fans who urged the creator/ producer Julian Fellowes… to please, please, please give us a movie! ๐ŸŽฅ

After years of watching this masterpiece classic television series…you truly care about these characters. You feel everything they experience… you go along life’s complex journey with them.

Now… I have to say.. there have been some characters that I didnโ€™t care so much about… but slowly but surely I got to have a better understanding of their back stories, or particular issues. … I learned to like them… or in the very least tolerate them. LOL!

Some stayed dark, and others lightened up brilliantly!

Bravo to the creator, and writers… ONE MORE TIME!!

There have been characters… I cherished watching develop and mature over the years…

How about all the mysteries, sorrows, scandals, joy, pain, tragedies, triumphs, and love stories????

My, My, My! Thereโ€™s been a lot to unpack at this fine estate over the years.

So itโ€™s only fitting and proper that we get to see..the continuing saga of the Crawley family and the servants working for them in the early 20th century… English countryside.

โ€œWhere are they now?โ€ What has happened to all those dear characters always tugging on our emotions and heartstrings???

Well now… I understand this film ๐ŸŽž takes up EXACTLY from where the story was left off…after the last series…and its Christmas Special which aired in 2015.

It is now 1927, two years after the Christmas Special episode which marked the end of the last series.

Mary and Tom (played by Michelle Dockery and Allen Leech ) are still in charge of the running of the estate.

Lady Mary is still married to Henry (played by Matthew Goode) but he is largely absent from the film, away on some business in the U.S.

I was so thrilled to meet the wonderful actress, Michelle Dockery…. who plays the role of Lady Mary. It was quite a pleasure!

I tld her… sheโ€™s always been one of my favorite characters… and sheโ€™s done a splendid job portraying this very interesting woman.

Sophisticated… charming… and ALWAYS stylish!

Props to you Mโ€™Lady!

Through it all… the eldest of the Crawley sisterโ€™s always been the most beautiful, and proud, ( some may call this fair lady arrogant… but you have to follow her closely, and understand the time period, her upbringing, and high society… to โ€œget her.โ€

Anyway, Lady Mary has always been โ€œThe Oneโ€ most admired by many distinguished gentlemen, and of course suitors in her hey day.

And heyyyy!!! Lady Mary had some tight situations… over the years..

oooo-weee! ๐Ÿคซ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

but now.. weโ€™ll truly see how much she has matured, and just how fortunate sheโ€™s been in her life of privilege. ๐Ÿค—

The middle Crawley sister… the one we rooted for the most, the who experienced sooo many setbacks, and unfortunate situations married extremely well!

Edith Crawley was the one to get the highest standing in life… and it was awesome! I ‘ve always cared a lot for this character too… Everyone had pretty much given up on her… and she surprised them all!! The morale of her sorted story is … in the words of Winston Churchill…. never, never, never give up! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝโ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ

Nobody saw it coming…

but I was so excited to see things FINALLY work out for this woman!!

When the saga continues… Edith, is still married to Bertie Pelham, the Marquess of Hexham, but is bored living in her castle in Northumberland and hosting dinners.

She returns to Downton on invitation from her mother (Elizabeth McGovern) to attend the Royal visit.

Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham (played splendidly by Maggie Smith), also known as โ€œGrand Ma Ma), is still bickering with Isobel (Penelope Wilton, marvelously played!)

Maggie Smith, an 84-year-old Oscar winner, joins other series regulars including Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary Crawley), Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith Crawley), Elizabeth McGovern (Cora Crawley, Countess of Grantham), Allen Leech (Tom Branson), Matthew Goode (Henry Talbot), Joanne Froggatt (Anna Bates), Brendan Coyle (Mr. Bates), Robert James-Collier (Mr. Barrow), Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore), Sophie McShera (Daisy Mason), Phyllis Logan (Mrs. Hughes), Raquel Cassidy (Miss Baxter) and Michael C. Fox (Andy).

All I have to say now is…. Another holiday themed Downton film… or just a little special or something later would be GREAT !๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

It’s always cool to catch up with new developments with our favorite characters… watch their families expand…and witness them continue to grow and develop.. as respectable human beings.

Faithful fans like me have witnessed these characters come a LONG way!

I really missed them…

Hmmmm….. ๐Ÿค”

Can you say spin-off โ‰๏ธ

๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ I can! I can! (( LOL!))

Jillian Fellowes heard me the first time…. ๐Ÿ˜† Mr Fellowes… and Focus Features… Can you hear me now??? ๐Ÿ˜

After this movie ๐ŸŽฅ I’m sure a chorus of other voices will chime in with me….

๐ŸŽผ ๐ŸŽถ Singing praisesand crooning for an Encoreโ€ผ๏ธ
