Through it all… the eldest of the Crawley sister’s always been the most beautiful, and proud, ( some may call this fair lady arrogant… but you have to follow her closely, and understand the time period, her upbringing, and high society… to “get her.”
Anyway, Lady Mary has always been “The One” most admired by many distinguished gentlemen, and of course suitors in her hey day.
And heyyyy!!! Lady Mary had some tight situations… over the years..
but now.. we’ll truly see how much she has matured, and just how fortunate she’s been in her life of privilege. 🤗
The middle Crawley sister… the one we rooted for the most, the who experienced sooo many setbacks, and unfortunate situations married extremely well!
Edith Crawley was the one to get the highest standing in life… and it was awesome! I ‘ve always cared a lot for this character too… Everyone had pretty much given up on her… and she surprised them all!! The morale of her sorted story is … in the words of Winston Churchill…. never, never, never give up! 🙌🏽🙌🏽♥️🙌🏽🙌🏽
Nobody saw it coming…
but I was so excited to see things FINALLY work out for this woman!!
When the saga continues… Edith, is still married to Bertie Pelham, the Marquess of Hexham, but is bored living in her castle in Northumberland and hosting dinners.
She returns to Downton on invitation from her mother (Elizabeth McGovern) to attend the Royal visit.
Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham (played splendidly by Maggie Smith), also known as “Grand Ma Ma), is still bickering with Isobel (Penelope Wilton, marvelously played!)
Maggie Smith, an 84-year-old Oscar winner, joins other series regulars including Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary Crawley), Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith Crawley), Elizabeth McGovern (Cora Crawley, Countess of Grantham), Allen Leech (Tom Branson), Matthew Goode (Henry Talbot), Joanne Froggatt (Anna Bates), Brendan Coyle (Mr. Bates), Robert James-Collier (Mr. Barrow), Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore), Sophie McShera (Daisy Mason), Phyllis Logan (Mrs. Hughes), Raquel Cassidy (Miss Baxter) and Michael C. Fox (Andy).
All I have to say now is…. Another holiday themed Downton film… or just a little special or something later would be GREAT !👍🏽👍🏽
It’s always cool to catch up with new developments with our favorite characters… watch their families expand…and witness them continue to grow and develop.. as respectable human beings.
Faithful fans like me have witnessed these characters come a LONG way!
I really missed them…
Can you say spin-off ⁉️
🙋🏽♀️ I can! I can! (( LOL!))
Jillian Fellowes heard me the first time…. 😆 Mr Fellowes… and Focus Features… Can you hear me now??? 😁
After this movie 🎥 I’m sure a chorus of other voices will chime in with me….
🎼 🎶 Singing praises… and crooning for an Encore‼️
